Monica was born in Barcelona and studied illustration at the School of Applied Arts and Design Llotja until 1994. She has been illustrating for various media since then. Monica is the author of two series of animated cartoons for children, which led her to teach animation classes at Escola Massana since 2000. In 2005 Mónica moved to the Southern Hemisphere in search of adventure. First Australia and then New Zealand. There she met some pretty interesting people and animals, enjoyed the scenery and quality of life and she kept on illustrating, painting, teaching, sculpting and learning about healing.
She was one of the founders of the “little” great Flamin 'Artichoke gallery based in Featherston, NZ. Monica likes to exhibit her works in usual and unusual places and has participated in more than one hundred exhibitions (solo and group) in Europe and Oceania.
She returned to Barcelona by the end of 2010, and it seems that she is still over there (though she has itchy feet…).
